Brueghel moved to the Marolles in 1563 to be closer to the city’s centre of power. He passed the last years of his life and produced two thirds of his work there. Dive into the Brussels of this time which was one of the most important seats of power in Europe. Discover the life of the court and the most ancient quarters of the city. From the Église de la Chapelle (the Chapel Church) at Coudenberg or the Porte de Hal (Halle Gate) in the heart of the Marolles, discover the traces left behind by this illustrious figure and the medieval city.
